Nokia, in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, recently unveiled the Morph concept at The Museum of Modern Art in New-York. Morph is a joint nanotechnology concept designed to demonstrate the future of mobile devices. These mobile devices will be having a lot of features, flexible, stretchable and shape changing are some among them. They can be easily integrated in our everyday routines without special adjustments on our part. But unfortunately we will have to wait for a decade more until the elements of Morph might be available for integration into handheld devices. But the concept is promising indeed
Advantages of Morph:
- It is flexible and strong: Fibril proteins are woven into three dimensional mesh that reinforces thin elastic structures making morph highly adaptable.
- Self Cleaning Property: It has self cleaning property which reduces corrosion, wear and improves longevity.
- Harvest Solar Energy: Nanograss structures which covers Morph harvests solar energy. The device’s surface becomes a natural source of energy.
- Improved Batteries: It has smaller, long lasting and faster to charge batteries.
- Nanosensors: Nano-sensors would raise the awareness of mobile devices' users to the environment in a new way. When air pollution or bio-chemical traces and processes are right before our eyes, we will not be able to ignore them. It will also enhance our natural abilities and ease our daily decisions even on small matters such as whether or not to wash a certain fruit before eating it. for more
